Below is a fantastic clip from a sermon Mark Driscoll did, critiquing the prosperity gospel (or “name it and claim it”) that is often preached. Specifically he shows a clip from Joel Osteen and explains where Joel has got it wrong. It is done in a strong, but fair and non-aggressive way.

Perhaps most importantly it is inspiring for those of us in pain, whether spiritual, physical or mental. To remind ourselves of what Jesus went through during His ministry can help us not be so self absorbed. God wants us to come to him when we are suffering and get respite from Him.
